SolidWorks 2010 Sheet Metal Enhancements
Multi-body Support for Sheet Metal Parts
The biggest enhancement in SolidWorks 2010 Sheetmetal is the support of multi body, this simplifies the creation of complex sheet-metal designs. This new functionality lets you incorporate designs that include other sheet-metal or weldment parts. Thus now we can incorporate weldments or other sheet-metal parts in sheet metal mode.
Sheet-Metal Export to DXF/DWG Enhancements
The new DXF/DWG PropertyManager exports sheet-metal files to .dxf or .dwg files, speeding the creation of files for manufacturing operations. This tool allows you to confirm and edit what will be contained in the export file so you can quickly remove unwanted items, such as bend lines or the edges of countersunk holes. This in turn allows real-time verification and editing of what is being exported and drastically decrease the number of export steps.Other New Capabilities
Improved edge flange, miter flange, selective fold/unfold, rip, tear, and auto-relief functionality. Design in flat or bent states with equal flexibility, and create flat patterns automatically, or instantly create sheet-metal designs directly from 3D solid models.
